Another ingredient that is quite prevalent that many people don’t realize or pay attention to is petroleum. Petroleum is found in products ranging from paraffin candles, to cosmetics, to bath & body products, skin care and more! Most of your inexpensive moisturizers that you will buy aren’t really hydrating your skin. They are putting a thick layer of petroleum on your skin so that it FEELS moisturized, rather than actually being absorbed into your skin. A lot of facial products will do the same thing, so that you think they work great and are fixing the problems, but are instead hiding them. All that vaseline is, is petroleum, the same thing that we put into our cars!! When you burn paraffin candles, and you notice the black soot? That is a result of the petroleum in the wax. I LOVE soy candles because they burn completely clean, and I know that I am not polluting the air that I and my family are breathing. Ever wonder why it seems like you constantly need chapstick once you start using it?? It’s a result of the petroleum in the product. There are many reasons that I have changed over much of my skin and body care to natural products, and petroleum is a big factor. If everyone would do a little research to learn more about ingredients, we would find that we are much healthier, as well as depleting less of our natural resources.
Product Review: Scentsy Warmers
If you have never tried a Scentsy warmer, you are definitely missing out! Not only are they safer than burning a candle because you aren’t burning anything, but they are safer for the environment. The fragrances are made of soy wax which means that there isn’t any petroleum or other poisons being released into the air and effecting the quality of air that your family is breathing. Because the wax is soy, that also means that it will not burn skin if it’s spilled, and I can definitely vouch for this from personal experience! That makes it great for those with kids and/or pets.
The lightbulbs are low enough wattage, that it is safe to leave them on for as long as you want. The plug-in warmers make great nightlights in your bathroom or hallway! My son even uses one as a nightlight/air freshener in his room at night.
Of the scent bars I’ve tried so far, my favorite by far is the Sunkissed Citrus. I definitely need to order some of the Fall & Winter scents to put my whole house into the spirit of the season. The fragrance carries extremely well and is great for anyone living in a dorm, senior center, rv’s, and of course ANYONE.
Scentsy ships in a very timely manner, so that it has never taken longer than a week for me to receive my order. Of course going into the holiday season, it may take a little longer, but it’s definitely worth it!
